New budget reconciliation package contains agriculture, energy provisions

The budget reconciliation package announced by Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) Wednesday (July 27) contains portions of the stalled Build Back Better initiative melded into what is now labeled the Inflation Prevention Act of 2022. Included are extra funds for agriculture related to climate efforts and renewable fuel provisions including the establishment of a tax credit for sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and an extension of the biodiesel tax credit.
