ExxonMobil Chemical Highlights Technology at Advanced Automotive Battery Conference

ExxonMobil Chemical has presented its polymer technology capability at the sixth Advanced Automotive Battery and Ultracapacitor Conference in Baltimore May 15-19,2006.The company presented a technical paper jointly with its affiliate in Japan,Tonen Chemical Corporation,on prototype microporous film for lithium ion battery(LIB)separators that is expected to dramatically improve LIB power and safety performance in hybrid-electric vehicle(HEV)applications.The film offers the potential to make HEV batteries lighter weight and smaller,thereby contributing to HEV system cost reduction and to improvements in design flexibility and durability.
