Dubai State Entity Will Take Over DPC's Operations with Effect from April 2007

Under the terms of an agreement signed on 6 August,the government of Dubai and Dubai Petroleum Company(DPC)have decided that DPC will cease to be an oil operator with effect from 2 April 2007.This agreement marks the end of the first offshore oil concession to have been granted in Dubai and"the beginning of a new phase in which the emirate of Dubai will directly control its offshore oil resources."
