Acting Oil Minister Puts the Country's Recoverable Oil Reserves at 95 Billion Barrels

Following the threats of several deputies not to approve the 2007-08 state budget,which should have been given the green light before 1 April,if the government continued to refuse to disclose the real volume of the country's oil reserves,the acting Oil Minister and Minister of Electricity and Water,Mr.Mohamed al-Olaim,confirmed that the country's remaining recoverable oil reserves totaled around 100 billion barrels.In a technical presentation to parliamentary deputies reproduced by the official Kuwait News Agency(Kuna)and in the press,Mr.al-Olaim outlined several "models" yielding different figures for the country's proved and unproved reserves.
