Full proposal for Kuwait's USD 14 billion rail and metro project will be presented for approval to the prime minister within weeks. If government approval can be secured swiftly for the project and a decision taken on the ownership of the five special purpose companies soon, Kuwait Overland Transport Union officials hope to begin issuing tenders by the end of 2008. The rail and metro projects are scheduled to be finished by 2014.
