Statoil and Sonatrach Start to Confirm the Gas Potential of the Hassi Mouina Concession

The Norwegian company Statoil,operator of the Hassi Mouina concession with a 75% interest,has just reported very positive results from the first well it drilled there.In effect,the Hassi Tidjerane-2 (HTJ-2) well,which was spudded on 14 November last,yielded test flows of 7,083 cu m/hour of natural gas from a structure at a depth of 1,131-1,142 meters and 9,012 cu m/hour of gas from an interval at 1,113-1,129 meters.The national oil company Sonatrach holds a 25% interest in the tract,which is located in the Gourara basin.
