Siemens to Supply Qapco with a Wet Air Oxidation System for the Expansion of its Ethylene Cracker

Siemens Energy is to supply Qatar Petrochemical Company (Qapco) with a wet air oxidation system for treating used caustic soda in its ethylene cracker. Siemens' Zimpro wet air oxidation (WAO) system is to be installed at Qapco's complex in Messaid. It will provide Qapco with more efficient wastewater treatment facilities while eliminating noxious odors from spent caustic sulfide. The system is due to start operating in December 2013.
