CNPC, Shell and QPI Secure Initial Approval for a Refining-and-Petrochemical Complex in China

China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), Qatar Petroleum International (QPI) and Shell (China) Ltd. have signed a framework agreement with the municipal government of Taizhou for the joint development of a refining-and-petrochemical complex at Taizhou, in the province of Zhejiang, CNPC announced in a statement. The project had originally been proposed in 2009 (AOG, 16 Aug. and 16 Dec, 2009).
