Revised State Budget for 2009 and 2010, Based on an Oil Price of 40/B, Proj ects a Total Deficit of 3.74 Billion

After several months of debate since the first draft of the state budget for 2009 and 2010 was approved by the government last October (AOG, 16 Nov., 2008), the Consultative Council and Parliament have finally adopted a revised version of it following the intervention of King Hamad, who directed that expenditure allocations be increased by BD 100 million (265 million) to take account of inflation, which was one of the bones of contention.
