DEWA Issues a Tender for the Construction of the 'P' Power and Water Complex at Hassyan

Dubai Water and Electricity Authority (DEWA) has issued an international tender for the turnkey construction of phase 2 of the "P" power and water complex, which is located at Hassyan, close to the frontier with Abu Dhabi. Phase 2 of the complex is to have generating capacity of 1,500 MW and desalination capacity of 100-120 million gallons/day, while the first phase will have capacity of 1,500 MW and 100 million gallons/day. The closing date for bids is 15 April. Interested companies will be able to bid for one or other or both components of the complex (the power station and the desalination plant). DEWA points out that, in the event that the contracts are awarded to two different companies, they would be asked to form a consortium for executing the work.
