FeCr price decrease to slow down in Asia first

In line with Metal Expert forecast, global chrome markets saw weaker quotes in December due to still unfavourable consuming segment and weak demand for FeCr and Cr ore from China, the biggest buyer. Spot FeCr prices lost 2-3 in China over the month amid lower tender prices from major buyers. European quotes slid by another 11 on the month due to tougher competition along with seasonally weaker demand. The import-dependent Asian and US markets saw a 3-7 decrease in chrome prices. Turkish Cr ore suppliers, followed by their South African counterparts, had to lower the material prices by 5,5 despite seasonally higher mining cost.
