Vale plans 40pc rise in Colombian output in 2012

Colombia's fourth-largest coal producer Vale plans to increase coal production in the country by 40pc this year to 5mn metric tonnes. A company official said Vale expects to receive environmental permits in the first of 2012 for its Las Cuevas mine, where operations are scheduled to begin later this year.
