This loss is more than a waste of water and a potential risk factor for water damage - it's also a waste of cities' valuable time, money, and energy. Cities can combat this issue by updating the technologies that monitor and maintain water systems, but the costs associated are often a deterrent. Local government budgets across the nation continue to shrink, but the need for better water and energy efficiency is at an all-time high. City leaders are often tasked with recommending creative solutions for improved municipal water systems while staying compliant and within budget.
