The holder, made of durable UPVC, has a weatherproof screw end-cap and has been specifically designed to comply with SOLAS 1974 requirements. "SOLAS Chapter II-2, Regulation 15 requires that a duplicate set of fire control plans is permanently stored in a prominently marked watertight enclosure outside the deckhouse for the assistance of shoreside fire-fighting personnel," Captain Andy Goldsmith MNI, marine technical manager Maritime Progress, explained. "The Maritime Progress safety plan holder has been specifically designed to ensure the plan remains both dry and useable if it were required."
