Shipments of replacement and original equipment automotive batteries fell by 663,254 units month on month to roughly 10.72 million units in February from 11.39 million units in January, according to data from the Battery Council International. Shipments of original equipment automotive batteries fell by 1.54 to 1.55 million units in February from 1.57 million units in January. For the year to date, original equipment battery shipments totaled 3.12 million units, down year on year by 9.43 from 3.45 million units in January-February 2020.
