Tanker pair put Crowley back in the market

Crowley Maritime Corporation's petroleum and chemical transportation group announced in late August that it has bought two new Jones Act tankers, the Pennsylvania and the Florida, from Aker Philadelphia Shipyard. The Pennsylvania was delivered last month and the Florida is scheduled for March. The pair mark Crowley's re-entry into the Jones Act tanker market after its last tanker wasretiredin2011. These additions will let Crowley offer a more diverse fleet of petroleum and chemical transportation vessels. The tankers will be capable of carrying nearly 330,000bbl of a wide variety of petroleum products and chemicals. The vessels will operate in the US coastwise trade.
