Two new pay-as-you-sail services for licensing ENCs have been launched recently to join a similar service from Datema. The two newcomers are Transas and Norway-based Navtor. Both services have been approved by DNV. As the name suggests, users pay only for those charts that they actually require when they set sail. With Transas PAYS solution the vessel will have a licence and access to install, view and pre-plan using official ENCs where the necessary PAYS permissions have been obtained without additional cost.
