Ice thruster's Caspian debut

Building on experience with two icebreaking supply vessels completed 15 years ago for the shallow waters and specific ice conditions of the north Caspian Sea, the Royal Wagenborg group has commissioned two new support ships to expand the company's operations in ice-covered wa-ters. One of the key features of the latest generation, Sanaborg and Serkeborg, is a new design of steerable, pulling-type thruster, developed by Waertsilae to meet 1A Super ice class or higher standards and known as the Icepod.
