Denmark to target 50pc renewables by 2030

Denmark will aim for half of its energy needs to be met by renewables by 2030, according to the manifesto released by a new Danish coalition government. Denmark is already on course to meet the EU’s proposed target of 27pc renewable energy by 2030, so it will go further and aim for at least 50pc of its energy needs to be met by renewable sources, the document says. The 2030 renewables target is a new milestone that will help the country meet its existing goal of being entirely independent of fossil fuel by 2050.
