The French government has opened a tender for the construction of biomass-fired combined heat and power (CHP) plants to replace natural gas-fired CHP plants over 12MW, the energy ministry said. The tender is for biomass-fired CHP plants with a power capacity of 1-20MW and aims to provide a cumulative total of 40MW of capacity. All successful facilities must secure offtake for all heat produced.
