Japan's Jan-Jun Al product output recovers

Japanese production of aluminium products posted its first year-on-year increase in four years during January-June, supported by a strong recovery in demand from the car manufacturing sector. Production of rolled and extruded aluminium products increased by 11pc on the year to 938,844t over January-June, according to preliminary data released today by industry group the Japan Aluminium Association (JAA). Shipments were also higher by 11pc at 947,113t during January-June, also increasing on the year for the first time in four years, JAA said.
