摘要

According to a report from Daily NK, the price of gasoline sold by private dealers in North Korea rose as high as $2.18/kg ($2.92/L-fuel is sold by weight in North Korea) as of July 5, up 50 from $1.46/kg on June 2021. Subsequendy, prices eased to $2.05/kg as of July 12, but sources say that the country's fuel supplies remain under pressure. "After North Korea's frequent missile tests including its very first ICBM test, the international community has vowed to tighten sanctions and China simply cannot exclude itself from the recent movement, akhough it probably does not want to indefinitely cut off fuel sales to the North," said Daily NK's Kang Mi-jin, a defector who gets information on pricing in the country by the simple expedient of calling North Korean fuel traders by phone.
