US: ASC rules out buying Lansing Craft Centre

AUTOMOTIVE supplier ASC has said that it will no longer pursue options towards buying General Motors' Lansing Craft Centre in Michigan. According to the Lansing State Journal, ASC had earlier considered using the shuttered facility as a base for manufacturing low-volume speciality vehicles under contract to vehicle manufacturers. "Unfortunately, the new business opportunity associated with the Lansing Craft Centre did not receive approval. Therefore, ASC is no longer pursuing this option," said Steven Laurain, ASC's vice president and general manager.
