Germany: Mahindra plans to acquire Schoneweiss Co

MAHINDRA & Mahindra is negotiating to acquire a majority stake in German automotive chassis supplier Schoneweiss & Co, according to Automotive News Europe. Schoneweiss, which has an annual forging capacity of 50,000 tonnes, specialises in drop-forge operations. Analysts say the acquisition could cost Mahindra between {EUR}117m (US$154.33m) and {EUR}156m (US$205.77m). The customer base of the company includes DaimlerChrysler, MAN, Scania, Volvo, Volkswagen and BMW. It employs about 550 people.
