Germany: Goodyear rolls out four millionth RunOnFlat tyre

THE Goodyear Dunlop Group has rolled out its four-millionth RunOnFlat tyre in Europe. The landmark tyre came off the line at Goodyear's Fulda factory in central Germany. All RunOnFlats for this part of the world are made in Germany - with Goodyear brand ones at the Fulda unit and Dunlops at Hanau and Furstenwalde The demand for RunOnFlat tyres has been rising, with many attracted by the safety benefits. The tyre can perform safely for at least 80km after a puncture. "Research we have carried out shows that until recently more than 70% of European drivers were not aware of the benefits of RunOnFlat technology. In the past year we have been working hard to convey the benefits to a wider public and the results are being reflected in the interest shown," said Philippe Degeer, vice president of consumer tyres for Goodyear Dunlop Europe.
