US: Collins Aikman signs asset purchase agreement with Cadence

BANKRUPT automotive components supplier Collins & Aikman has signed an asset purchase agreement with Cadence Innovation for the sale of a significant portion of its North American Plastics Business. According to the purchase agreement, the Southfield, Michigan-based automotive supplier will transfer operations in nine of its plastic manufacturing plants in the US, Canada and Mexico, which employ about 3,500 people producing products for most North American OEMs.
