摘要

The growth, metabolic response and body composition of silver perch (Bidyanus bidyanus), as affected by dietary phosphorous (P) level, was investigated. A dietary P level of 0.71% was found to be optimal for growth. Increasing dietary P from 0.24 to 0.72% reduced whole body and liver lipid and triacylglycerol contents and plasma alkaline phosphatase activity, and increased phosphatidylcholine and phosphatidylethanolamine levels, plasma inorganic P concn. and whole body and vertebrae ash, Ca, Mg and P contents. P deficiency was characterized by dark coloration, increased whole body and liver lipid contents, loss of appetite, poor bone mineralization, poor growth and reduced physical activity.
