North American drill rig count still rising

The number of drill rigs running in the United States rose by five this past week, while the Canadian count climbed by 11. The US count totaled 378 rigs for the week ended Friday January 22, up 1.3% from 373 rigs the previous week, but down 52.4% from 794 rigs at the same time last year.
