On 7 October 2013, one of the company's plant mechanics was repairing a shredding machine after the metal plate that formed the roof of the hammer drum became detached. While the employee was kneeling on a conveyor belt inside the shredder, the machine restarted, throwing him from the belt and fracturing his right leg and left arm.
