This is being written in the wake of two tragic infant deaths in Staffordshire in February 2010. Three-year-old Harrison Joyce and 16-month-old Lillian Bagnall-Lambe both died after becoming entangled in blind cords in their homes.In the summer of 2009, Gethin Ifor Jones, aged 23 months, died after a blind cord became caught around his neck at his home in North Wales.2 The previous year, two-year-old Muireann McLaughlin slipped and suffered strangulation from a low-hanging blind cord after climbing onto a toy box to wave goodbye to her grandmother from the upstairs window of her home in Clackmannanshire.
