For the first time in more than two decades, we are going back to Brighton for our annual conference. lam reaUy lookingforward to visiting, not that I am sure how much time I will have to see the sea with such an excellent programme. If you manage to get a paddle let me know -1 am fairly unmistakeable with my blonde bob and dark-framed glasses, so will not be hard to spot!This year has been tough for community practitioners. Changes to our NHS are having a significant impact on managers and frontline staff. Cost-cutting pressures are beginning to bite hard, with staffing levels hard to manage and workloads increasing. The shift from acute- to community-led services is not always sitting comfortably, as we see little investment to deliver this.
