Tauron plans Blachownia capacity

Poland's second largest power group, Tauron Polska Energia, and the country's largest copper miner, KGHM, have agreed to build 910 MW of new coal-fired capacity at Tauron's Elektrownia Blachownia CHP plant, KGHM's chief executive, Herbert Wirth said January 15. Wirth said the new block, which would be built at Tauron's Elektrownia Blachownia in Kedzierzyn-Kozle, south Poland, would cost an estimated Zloty 5 billion ($1.8bn). The coal-fired plant currently has installed capacity of 158 MWe and 174 MWt.
