摘要

The Serbian government has backtracked from an earlier plan to raise electricity prices by 20% this year, following a crisis meeting between Serbian president Boris Tadic and Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic, January 19. The high-level meeting ensued after it emerged that EPS was planning to increase monthly compensation for its employees, contrary to the terms of a 2009 agreement between the Serbian government and the IMF that prohibits wage increases in the public sector.
