Greek firm tests Crimean wind

The chairman of Verkhovna Rada of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the chairman of the Crimean Council of Ministers met January 11 with a Greek delegation consisting of representatives of companies Prenecon Prime Energy Construction and Enercon Hellas, Ukraine consultants Imepower said January 25. The parties discussed the terms and stages of implementation of an investment project to build a wind park at an estimated cost of ?1.7 billion. A joint working group, consisting of Greek and Crimean specialists on wind energy, which was created within the framework of an agreement on cooperation between the Council of Ministers of Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Prenecon signed in 2009, investigated possible sites and made a preliminary wind estimation in the Pervomayskiy, Razdol'nenskiy, Krasnoperekopskiy and Leninkiy regions.
