US approval nears for Korean suppliers

South Korean Ballast Water Management Systems (BWMS) manufacturer Techcross is looking forward to attaining the type approval for its systems from the US Coast Guard (USCG), which has more stringent requirements on the technology. Techcross uses the Electro-Cleen System to directly treat all the water and sediments in the main ballast pipeline, using the effects of electrical potential energy, hydroxyl radicals, and formation of hypochlorite from the naturally occurring salt in seawater.
