MbZ proposes diplomatic package to Sisi and Abiy ahead of AU summit

The question is central to Emirati Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed al-Nahyan, aka MbZ, who has ambitions to be the Horn of Africa's kingmaker in the region. Based on his strong links with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, whom he met in a one-on-one meeting in Abu Dhabi on 26 January, as well as those he has with the Sudanese leadership and the Eritrean president Isaias Afwerki (AI, 27/01/22), MbZ has set himself the goal of untangling the region's conflicts.
