摘要

The aim of the joint radar sensor model project was to validate the model regarding all relevant effects that are featured in a real radar sensor. The intention was to illustrate that the model is suitable for the realistic modeling of real sensors. By using the ray-tracing-based sensor model Radar RSI, raw sensor data could be accessed. To validate typical effects of radar devices, a detailed test catalog was designed and appropriate measurements were performed. At the end of the project, Magna could access a validated, verified radar sensor model with a very high level of maturity. Radar sensor models with a high degree of detail are now available in the simulation environment for development and testing, and contribute to increase the safety of driver assistance systems at an early stage.
