I appreciate the letter by Whittle calling attention to the fact that I did not list any conflicts of interest in my invited commentary concerning the use of beta-adrenergic receptor block-ing agents in patients with heart failure.I have been careful to list all of my potential conflicts of interest in the articles I publish and review including the articles I reviewed concerning the use of beta-adrenergic receptor blockers inpatients with heart failure, which were the subject of my commentary.I regret not having restated, these conflicts in the submission of my commentary. I realize the importance of transparency, especially in view of the many recent disclosures of apparent conflicts of interest.
