JCIA Looks for Japan to Handle 2.5M Tons of Chemical Recycling in 2050

The Japan Chemical Industry Association (JCIA) has released a report detailing aims for Japan’s chemical industry to expand its chemical recycling of plastic waste. As part of this, the association has set industry targets for the amount of plastic waste that should be handled via circular chemical recycling – targeting 1.5 million tons by 2030, and 2.5 million tons by 2050, up from just 230,000 tons in 2018.
