Toray Looks to Integrate R&D Operations in China by Sharing Information, Technology

Toray Industries Inc. (TYO:3402) is aiming to take its R&D in China to the next level. At present, the company has nearly 400 staff between two laboratories in the cities of Shanghai and Nantong, and its average growth rate has exceeded annual GDP growth since 2010. Toray is now working to integrate the Shanghai and Nantong bases. Last year saw the company invite executives to take part in efforts to this end, and progress continues to be made on systems development for these two research bases. Going forward, the company will focus its R&D management on uniting operations here and exhibiting its comprehensive strength.
