Versalis/AlphaBio seal bioherbicides development deal

Italian chemical company Versalis (San Donato) has sealed a deal with UK biological controls company AlphaBio Control (Cambridge) to develop “biologicals-based and biodegradable” herbicides, among other products. The deal brings Versalis into the biological crop protection market. Two product lines will be launched in Italy in the early months of 2021, with the aim of subsequently extending the portfolio with products that the companies are developing in their research laboratories.
