Probe initiated against Ginkgo over alleged securities fraud

A private investigation has been initiated against US synthetic biology business Ginkgo Bioworks Holdings (Boston, Massachusetts) to probe its alleged violation of the country’s federal securities laws. The development follows the publication of an investigative report by US securities research company Scorpion Capital (New York City, New York), where it blasts Ginkgo’s business model and calls it a “colossal scam” and a “mash-up of the worst frauds of the last 20 years”.
