Baotou Aluminum to continue construction of high-purity Al production line

Baotou Aluminum plans to invest 120 million yuan in building a production line of high-purity aluminum(>99.95 percent), source from the company said. In fact, the high-purity aluminum project was launched in 2004. The company had signed a cooperation contract with the former Pechiney to jointly build the production line. Construction of the workshop was finished at the end of 2004 but Pechiney did not inject funds into the project because it was acquired by Alcan. So, the project was suspended due to lack of funds.
