How do we define quality at triage?

This issue of the Australasian Emergency Nursing Journal foreshadows the release of an important development in defining the future role of triage in this country. The Australian Triage Process Review (ATPR) is due for release in late 2011. A summary of the ATPR work was recently presented at the 9th International Conference for Emergency Nursing in Adelaide.1 In the context of the ATPR review, it is timely to consider what the critical issues are at present for evaluating the safety and quality of triage services into the future.
