The benefits of Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) in evaluating pavement construction and condition are well known. GPR can be used to confirm or dispute the accuracy of historical construction data and design drawings. It can help in the evaluation of other condition data, reducing reliance on cores and trial pits. GPR can be used to calibrate dynamic test data such as deflectograph and FWD (falling weight deflectometer). It can also improve interpretation of surface condition data such as rutting, longitudinal profile and cracking patterns.
