FVA: investigations of the dedendum fatigue strength of case hardened gears. Part II: test results

In the production of gear units the gears are increasingly case hardened. These case hardened gears have also been used in high tech applications like aircraft production for a long time now. In this paper the dedendum operating life of case hardened gears is investigated under time-variable loads. Thereby in block program tests a longer operational life is observed than in random order tests, but by a reduction of the sequence length an approximation to the random order tests is possible. After in part I the August issue the test conditions were presented, now this part II describes the test results.
