Over the last ten years, May Gurney has transformed from a traditional construction business into a national infrastructure services provider. May Gurney's approach to recruitment, training and development has also changed to respond to this shift towards the delivery of essential maintenance services and the importance that the company places on developing long-term client relationships. "It's no secret that our industry doesn't have a great reputation for modern people management skills. We found that the traditional task-focussed command and control type approach just wasn't in sync with our vision for effective service delivery or our goal of building long term relationships with our clients," comments Neville Hounsome, Director of HR at May Gurney.
