Mark of quality for pothole repairs

Cracking and pot holes in road pavements pose an ongoing and costly problem for cash strapped highway authorities. Small cracks often develop into pot holes due to freeze thaw action during inclement weather, once pot holes start to open, their progress is rapid leading to hazardous conditions especially for two wheeled road users. Repairing potholes is slow and expensive and the repairs are often short lived. Many UK roads are in such poor condition due to failing patch repairs that the only option to ensure a safe road is full scale resurfacing which authorities may struggle to fund in the current climate of budget cuts.
