Contractors under pressure as highways tender lists get longer

The project, valued in the region of ￡55 million, has been put together by the Welsh Assembly, which has now shortlisted eight contractors to submit bids. The firms on the starting grid for the early contractor involvement (EIC) are: Balfour Beatty, BAM Nuttall, Carillion, Costain, John Sisk, Northern Irish firm Lagan, Morgan Sindall, and Welsh outfit Alun Griffiths.
