摘要

TRIALS that modelled using compressed and liquid hydrogen fuel cells on three bulkers showed the technology is not only feasible, but alongside wind-assisted propulsion can generate no direct pollution, according to an International Council for Clean Transportation study. The analysis into the decarbonisation of bulk carriers found that one of the vessels, a supramax engaged in Chinese coastal trades, was able to complete all four voyages tested using just liquid hydrogen, as well as achieving a 3.1% reduction in fuel per rotor sail.
